Late afternoon a tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan, and transfer to the Nile side where your Felucca is waiting. Board your boat and relax on the soft cushions. Experience the peace and tranquility of the Nile water that has been the lifeblood of Egypt since Pharaonic times. Enjoy a cool drink as you gently glide down the river.
The felucca will sail to the Aswan Botanical Garden "Lord Kitchener's Island". The island was given to Lord Horatio Kitchener in the 1890s when he was commander of the Egyptian army. Indulging his passion for beautiful palms and plants, Lord Kitchener turned the entire island into a stunning botanical garden, importing plants from the Far East, India and parts of Africa. Covering 6.8 hectares, it turned to be a paradise of exotic trees and plants in carefully gardens with view walkways. It later passed into the property of the Egyptian government and was used as a research station for examining different food and cash crops. Enjoy walking among the majestic Royal palm tree, the Sabal Palm tree, the phonic Pam tree, Ficus trees, and the beautiful bougainvillea trees.
Take your ride back and watch the sun sets slowly over the trees of the Botanical Island, the nearby Elephantine Island, and the Aswan Nobles tombs with fantastic reflection of a sand dune over the Nile. Back to the Nile side and then transfer to your hotel in Aswan.
