2026 Rockaway World Ocean Day Beach Cleanup

2026 Rockaway World Ocean Day Beach Cleanup

Join the Rockaway Beach Cleanup on June 6, 2026

In honor of World Ocean Day, Beach.com invites you to take action and help protect our shores at the Rockaway Beach Cleanup. Our mission is to inspire travelers and coastal communities to care for the places we love, and this global day of ocean conservation is the perfect opportunity to make a difference.

As we help travelers discover the best coastal stays, we remain committed to preserving the beauty and health of our oceans. Our beach cleanups bring together volunteers, ocean advocates, and community leaders to remove harmful debris and raise awareness about plastic pollution. By joining us, you’ll be part of a movement to keep our beaches clean and our marine life safe—one piece of trash at a time.

Meet Your Cleanup Captain

Aydon Gabourel, with Laru Beya Collective
I’m Aydon Gabourel, founder of the Laru Beya Collective in Far Rockaway. I was born in Belize and grew up in Rockaway, so the ocean has always played a significant role in shaping who I am. Through free surf therapy and water safety programs, we help young people, especially girls and youth of color, build confidence and community in the water. Rockaway Beach is where we teach, heal, and grow together. Starting our surf camp with a beach cleanup is about leading by example and taking care of the place that raised me.
