Based on how often travelers used language expressing genuine joy and happiness in 155 destinations across the globe, it was Tulum, Mexico that managed to come out on top.
The bohemian town along the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula scored a perfect 100 out of 100. Many say that landing here provides an instant sense of calm. While it may no longer be one of those “best-kept secrets,” Tulum is still a place to enjoy a laid-back beach experience combining vibrant wellness culture, rich Mayan heritage, crystal-clear blue cenotes, and sugary white sand beaches lapped by turquoise water.

While the main beach zone and town center, particularly around Tulum Centro (the main avenue), can be very busy, a more peaceful, restorative experience is still readily available for travelers seeking tranquility over crowds.
