The Florida Keys Beach Resorts Worth Booking, From Key Largo to Key West

While daydreams of key lime pie may be filling your mind, there’s one important thing you need to do before those sweet dreams can become reality. Once you’ve made the decision to visit the Florida Keys, you need to pick the perfect beach resort. Everyone’s needs are different, though.

Maybe you want to bring the kiddos along and have a family vacation. Or perhaps your idea of a dream vacation is just getting away for a romantic escape with your sweetie. The Florida Keys can also be a great spot for those who just need a little me-time and want to travel solo. No matter who you’re traveling with, though, there’s a beach resort in the Florida Keys to offer the vibes and amenities you’re seeking.

In an effort to help you find the best place to stay, we’ve compiled a list that encompasses some of the best Florida Keys beach resorts in the Upper, Middle, and Lower Keys. We’ve included some that are adults-only, as well as some family-friendly resorts. We’ve even included one for those who truly want to experience island life on a private island resort that can only be reached by boat or seaplane.

Bungalows Key Largo – Key Largo

  • Why We Love It: This is an all-inclusive resort, with food, alcoholic beverages, and activities included, making trip planning very easy.
  • Amenities: Kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear, bikes, yoga classes, tasting events
  • What to Consider: While the property hugs the shoreline of the bay and has epic views, it doesn’t have a traditional sprawling oceanside beach. You can still lounge by the water and enjoy watersports there, but if you’re looking for a traditional beach where you can walk right into the Atlantic, you can visit John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. It’s about five minutes down the road and the resort offers transportation.

Overview

For those looking for an adult-only escape, Bungalows Key Largo offers a relaxing all-inclusive experience for guests ages 21 and older. This isn’t your typical hotel experience, the bungalows are stand-alone accommodations that each have their own private outdoor space with soaking tubs and outdoor showers. This is ideal for those seeking a luxury experience without the kiddos. It is located in the Upper Keys, so if you’re flying into Miami International Airport (MIA), this is the closest resort on our list. It’s only about an hour and fifteen-minute drive.

One price includes meals and beverages, including alcoholic drinks. There’s an array of activities that are included as well. Start the day with yoga on the beach, lounge by the pools, enjoy watersports, or cruise around the property on the onsite bikes. Evening entertainment could include karaoke, trivia, or live music. There’s enough there to keep you busy without paying extra. However, there are also add-on activities such as a ride on a floating tiki boat, island hopping on a seaplane, or swimming with dolphins.

Highlights

  • Adults-only (21+)
  • All-inclusive: food, beverages, and activities
  • Two pools and jacuzzis
  • Non-motorized watersports
  • Daily entertainment

Hawks Cay Resort – Duck Key

Hawkscay

  • Why We Love It: This is already an amazing resort, but in summer 2026, Hawks Cay Resort plans to debut its new Coral Cay Waterpark with water slides, a new splash pad, and more. When it opens, it will be the biggest waterpark in the Florida Keys and only resort guests will have access to it.
  • Amenities: Lagoon-style beach, fitness center, marina with boat slips, tennis, pickleball, bikes, craft classes, and dog park
  • What to Consider: If you go, you’ll likely see many guests driving golf carts. This is a great way to get around the expansive resort, but these aren’t automatically included with your stay. They’re available to rent, and you can book one before or during your stay.

Overview

Hawks Cay Resort is located in the Middle Keys, which positions it perfectly in one of Florida’s best areas for snorkeling and fishing. This property offers exceptional add-on experiences, including one that will take you snorkeling at a reef within the Florida Keys Marine Sanctuary. Visitors will also find a variety of fishing charters that are perfect for all ages. There’s something there for the whole family, including your pups. Dogs even get a special gift package upon arrival.

The beach at Hawks Cay Resort is pretty unique, too, and it isn’t like what you’ll find at other Florida beach resorts. There’s actually a lagoon that’s surrounded by sand. The enclosed area makes it a very family-friendly place to swim. The lagoon is filled with water from the Atlantic Ocean, but it’s just not your traditional beach. More water surrounds the strip of beach that encloses the lagoon. There are also five pools and the new waterpark will be a cool addition as well. You’ll find multiple room options, but for those that need more space, private villas and suites are available.

Highlights

  • Family-friendly
  • Five swimming pools
  • A variety of room sizes, suites, and villas
  • Dog-friendly
  • 66 boat slips available for vessels up to 92 feet

Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club – Marathon

Grassy Flats

  • Why We Love It: This eco-friendly resort is going above and beyond to help save the planet. There are multiple sustainability initiatives in place, including their recycling program that kept over 30,000 pounds of trash out of the landfill in 2025. They also don’t use plastic straws or water bottles there, and the reusable wooden room keys are a nice touch, too.
  • Amenities: Paddleboards, kayaks, bicycles, sauna, organic toiletries, separate pools for adults and families
  • What to Consider: There are two buildings at Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club that are reserved just for adults 21+. Families are very welcome here too, but if you’re traveling with children, double-check to make sure you’re booking the correct room.

Overview

Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club is located in the Middle Keys, and offers multiple lodging options, depending on the type of getaway you’re seeking. If you want to bring the kids along (or even your four-legged, furry kids), you can. Accommodations come in a variety of sizes, and families needing space to spread out can book a two or three bedroom suite. However, if you’re looking for an adults-only experience, you can get that here as well. Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club has two buildings that have accommodations just for adults. There are also two pools onsite — one for the whole family, and another pool and hot tub that’s reserved for adults.

The property also offers options on how you want to spend your time. Kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes are included in the resort fee, but there are some other cool adventures you can add on, like sailing, eFoiling, and kiteboarding lessons. Guests can also book an Aquabana. It’s like a cabana, but floats in the water, and it’s the perfect way to spend a lazy day.

Highlights

  • Dog-friendly
  • Kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes included
  • Two pools: One for adults and another for families
  • Multiple onsite dining options
  • Eco-friendly

Little Palm Island Resort & Spa – Little Torch Key

  • Why We Love It: It is located on its own private island and is the epitome of posh, luxury island vibes.
  • Amenities: Outdoor tubs, kayaks, paddleboards, yacht transfers, boat available for guest use, live music
  • What to Consider: There are no roads that lead to Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, and unless you’re arriving via your own boat, or have booked a seaplane to take you there, you’ll need to catch a ride on their motor yacht that departs from Little Torch Key. It only departs once per hour, so make sure you plan the timing of your arrival appropriately within the hours that it’s available.

Overview

Here you’ll find total seclusion, as it only has 30 bungalows available. If you’re looking for a truly exclusive experience to live your best life on your own private island, Little Palm Island Resort & Spa is your spot. It is located in the Lower Keys, but isn’t connected to the mainland. Once you’re there, though, you can enjoy your island paradise by splashing in the pool or laying oceanside in a hammock or beach bed. Watersports are also included in your stay, and there are boats, kayaks, and paddleboards available for you to use.

This is a place to genuinely get away from it all. To fully embrace the seclusion, the accommodations don’t have televisions or phones that connect outside the property. Don’t worry — there’s still WiFi. There’s also live music in the evenings.

Highlights

  • Awarded three Michelin Keys
  • Adults-only (18 and up)
  • Located on a private island
  • Only accessible via boat or seaplane
  • Marina that accommodates vessels up to 120 feet

Casa Marina – Key West

Casa Marina

  • Why We Love It: Located in the Lower Keys, it’s less than three miles away from Key West International Airport (EYW). This makes it easy to fly in and get your vacation started as soon as the wheels touch down.
  • Amenities: Sunrise yoga on the beach, fitness center, beachfront spa, live music, poolside popsicles, soccer, cornhole, complimentary sunglass cleaning
  • What to Consider: The property is located on the southern end of Key West. If you’re hoping to experience some of the other fun things to do in Key West, such as Mallory Square, you’ll have to make the trek to the other side of the island. Luckily, the whole island is only about two miles wide, though, so that isn’t too far. If you don’t want to walk, you can rent a scooter or catch a ride on the trolley.

Overview

If you love the idea of lounging on the beach, you’ll love Casa Marina. This resort has the largest private beach in Key West. Those who want downtime can rent a cabana or daybed and have drinks and food delivered right to their chair. Those seeking adventure have options too, though. Jet skis, paddleboards, and kayaks are available to rent. This property also has two separate pools – one for families and one only for adults.

This property is over 100 years old, and has transitioned between a luxury resort and military housing. It’s now a part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, which means you can use your Hilton Honors points if you go. Guests will find several lodging options to choose from, including some that have patios that give you direct access to the beach. Casa Marina also has some colorful accommodations that they call the “Stay Like Lilly Pulitzer Suites.” The beach-themed suites have a completely different style and give off the Key West vibe more than the rest. If you want to lay on the beach on a Lilly Pad Daybed that embraces the designer’s colorful patterns, you can also book that as an add-on.

  • Pet-friendly
  • Largest private beach in Key West
