- Location: Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur
- Why We Love It: The Esperanza offers an ideal blend of barefoot luxuries, dramatic beachfront views, and private candlelit dinners, making it a top pick for romantic trips, including honeymoons.
- Amenities: Oceanfront infinity pool, Award-winning spa, Private sea-view terraces
- What to Consider: The beach at Esperanza is stunning but not swimmable due to strong currents. While remote for privacy, it’s just four miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas, easily accessible by shuttle, taxi, or rental car. Book well in advance for optimal rates, keeping in mind that this is not an all-inclusive.
Overview:
Tucked between two scenic bluffs that overlook the Sea of Cortez, the Esperanza, Auberge Collection offers a five-star stay in spacious suites, casitas, and villas, all featuring private terraces with sea views. - Why We Love It: The serene ocean-view infinity pools with swim-up bars are blissful, and the setting is incredibly serene away from the downtown party crowds.
- Amenities: Ocean views from every room, Exclusive access to Solmar Golf Links Course, Oceanfront spa treatments, Authentic Mexican fare enjoyed with traditional music.
- What to Consider: Book Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes for its secluded, tranquil location and luxuries. Due to the strong rip tide, swimming isn’t allowed, but peaceful strolls on the soft, golden sands are a given. Plan for transportation, as the resort is a significant distance from the marina and downtown Cabo San Lucas.

- Why We Love It: The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas on the area’s most swimmable beach, Medano. Guests have access to a wide range of watersports and tours, including boat trips to the famous Arch rock formation and Lovers Beach at Land’s End.

You won’t find a better location than Casa Dorada, set along Medano Beach, steps from iconic bars with its own beach club where you can enjoy food and drink service while gazing out at the sea and iconic Land’s End Arch. In between, you can swim in the clear, calm, warm water that ranges in shades from deep blue to brilliant turquoise. Many water-based activities can be enjoyed here, including boat trips to “El Arco,” paddleboarding, and parasailing. - Why We Love It: The view overlooking the Sea of Cortez is stunning, and you’ll be in an ideal location as this hotel is one of the closest to Balandra Beach, often ranked among Mexico’s most beautiful, and just 10 minutes from downtown La Paz.

- What to Consider: This property is the best for those seeking a luxury, resort-style stay in a tranquil setting, rather than being in the center of the action in downtown La Paz, as you’ll need to take Uber, a taxi, or rent a car to explore beyond the property.

Overlooking the Sea of Cortez and marina away from the big tourist crowds in Cabo, Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés is the former Costabaja resort, now revamped after a 1.5-year facelift. It offers a high-end oasis with a boutique feel, located just 10 minutes from the city center of La Paz and 20 minutes from Balandra Beach, one of the most spectacular in all of Mexico. Guests also enjoy direct access to a private beach nearby, a gorgeous sea-view infinity pool with a swim-up bar, a spa with a menu of holistic treatments using local ingredients like damiana and copal, and multiple dining venues.

- What to Consider: The Turquoise Tower offers adults-only rooms for those seeking the quietest atmosphere, away from the more high-energy family areas. It includes access to an exclusive rooftop pool and a private check-in. The suites in the Pyramid building have a two-story layout, ideal for families or groups of friends who need more space.
Overview:
The beachfront Hyatt Ziva Cancun not only offers some of the best white sandy beaches in Cancun, but it also includes a separate adults-only area with rooms that are ideal for those looking for a more peaceful setting. There’s something for everyone here, including a kids’ club with a pool and mini-waterpark, multiple infinity pools, and 17 bars, lounges, and restaurants. Plus, in-room dining is available 24/7.

- What to Consider: This is a sprawling property with accommodation spread throughout three distinct sections. The Ambassador Ambiance is family-friendly, while the Zen Grand Nature Ambiance is surrounded by jungle, and the luxurious Grand Class Ambiance is for adults only.
Overview:
Set on over 80 acres, the Grand Velas Riviera is a vast property with 539 suites across three different sections. The Grand Class and Ambassador suites generally offer sea views or are right along the seafront. Adults looking for a more tranquil child-free experience should book the Grand Class suites, all of which come with hot tubs. Zen Grand is nestled in a jungle setting for a more secluded, tropical view rather than a direct view of the Caribbean. Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka’an is an adult-only resort that hosts 420 suites, but it feels more like an intimate boutique hotel tucked into three-story, villa-style buildings while providing personalized, tailored services. The most exclusive among the Mayan Riviera’s Bahia Principe resort complex, all suites include private balconies or terraces (some with hot tubs), top-shelf minibars that are replenished daily, pillow menus, and robes and slippers.
The property has its own private beach area offsite, accessed by shuttle, with a beach bar and watersports gear like snorkeling equipment and kayaks. An oasis with two white sandy beaches located about 30 miles north of Puerto Vallarta on a secluded peninsula, the Four Seasons Punta Mita offers a 5-star getaway with casita-style rooms, suites, and private residences, including villas and beach homes that are separate from the main hotel. Some of the suites have private plunge pools, while the Presidential Suites are the most luxurious at the resort, with an extensive amount of outdoor living space. Most accommodations include garden or ocean views that can be enjoyed from private balconies or terraces.
Guests have access to private sandy beaches, championship golf courses, and multiple pools, including an infinity pool and lazy river. The spa has hot and cold plunge pools, eucalyptus steam rooms, and couples’ suites, along with a beauty salon. The wide range of upscale dining and drinking venues often showcase ocean views.

Hotel Mousai Puerto Vallarta
- Location: Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
- Why We Love It: The rooftop infinity pools, one on each tower, provide total bliss. Relax on comfortable loungers while gazing out at panoramic views of the mountains and Banderas Bay. The food and drink service is exceptional, and you’ll often find a buzzing scene with DJs, live music, and themed entertainment.
- Amenities: Two rooftop infinity pools, Private beach, Ocean-view spa and fitness center, Nine restaurants
- What to Consider: The hotel offers privacy and seclusion, but as it’s south of downtown Puerto Vallarta, it requires taking a taxi or shuttle to access the main attractions. There is no direct access to a beach, but a white sandy, swimmable beach can be enjoyed via a short walk or shuttle at the neighboring Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa.
Overview:
A 5-star adults-only hotel, all rooms at Hotel Mousai have high-tech features like iPad-controlled lighting and private terraces with spectacular views over the bay or mountains. The suites are even more glamorous with plunge pools or gold-tiled bathtubs and champagne on ice in silver-engraved buckets. The ultra-luxe options include the Ultra Suites and opulent Penthouse suites, featuring private hot tubs and panoramic ocean views.
Guests have access to a beautiful white sandy beach at the neighboring resort, but many like to spend their days around one of the rooftop infinity pools. Access to specialized activities can be enjoyed too, including paddleboarding, snorkeling, hiking, and guided jungle hikes. An extensive, all-inclusive package is available that includes everything but spa services and tours outside of the property. There are nine restaurants (plus access to eateries at Garza Blanca). All are part of the all-inclusive program.
