Sandals South Coast sits on two miles of immaculate, white sand in a 500-acre nature preserve. This romantic, adults-only resort is separated into three separate European villages with three pools—including Jamaica’s largest—and swim-up bars. Once you see the 12 Tahiti-style Over-the-Water Bungalows with glass floors, outdoor showers, overwater hammocks and Butler Elite Service it will be hard to choose otherwise, but the beachfront suites are equally as enticing with patios designed to mesh nature with indoors and alluring soaking tubs for two.

Everything revolves around the pristine beach here—including delicious sushi on the sand and beach bonfires and an Over-the-Water wedding chapel. Dining options keep your senses fresh at nine restaurants with Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, Jamaica and more cuisines, unlimited cocktails and Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks® Wines. In the evenings, enjoy live entertainment, theme parties or a relaxing night in with the help of room service. Your all-inclusive package includes serious perks like beach volleyball, wakeboarding, tubing, bodyboarding, snorkeling, kayaking and even unlimited scuba diving for certified divers. If you’re not certified, take your PADI Open Water Diver certification while you’re there. Red Lane® Spa luxury treatments are available for an additional cost when you need a rejuvenating boost.

Secrets St. James Montego Bay

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Courtesy of AMResorts

This adults-only resort is geared towards keeping people on the grounds, as there isn’t anywhere to walk to. The beach is closed off to all but resort guests, ensuring a private shoreline experience. The main pool has a great ocean view but can get crowded—unless you’re in the Preferred Club, enjoying their separate pool (those guests actually have their own hotel, which can cause some envy for non-Preferred guests).

Rooms vary in size and quality—the master suites feature hot tubs—but 24-hour room service and flat-screen TVs can be found in all accommodations (free WiFi is only afforded to the Preferred Club rooms). The full-service spa features a wide menu of services, as well as saunas and steam rooms. The fitness spa could be bigger but there are more fun ways to get physical, with tennis, dance classes and non-motorized watersports on hand. Want to get less physical? Visit the casino or on-site shopping. Impressive eateries are the norm here, with no less than ten restaurants, though some are shared with a neighboring resort. The larger restaurants vary from Mexican and Pan-Asian cuisine to seafood specialties and Continental choices. Bars serve everything from the ever-popular Red Stripe to top-shelf liquor, all part of the all-inclusive price. The facilities are also well-equipped for weddings, in case you are looking for a nice place to tie the knot.
