The First Ever All-Inclusive Resort in the Florida Keys Just Opened—and There’s Private Bungalows

If you’ve ever hunted for an all-inclusive in the Florida Keys and come up scratching your head as to why on earth no such thing exists, we have good news. Times have changed, and the first-EVER, all-inclusive resort in the Keys is open for business in Key Largo, the northernmost of the Florida Keys.

What’s more—believe it or not—the new Bungalows Key Largo is one of only a few all-inclusive resorts in the entire state of Florida, so now you can plan the ultimate tropical beach vacation without even leaving the country.

The experience itself is unparalleled. Time seems to slow down the second you arrive. After checking in, the gates open to a sandy road lined with swaying palms and a golf cart drives you through on its way to deliver you to the scene of your uninterrupted days of leisure ahead.

Private Bungalows: Room Features

Fortunately, the adults-only Bungalows Key Largo was worth the wait—mostly because it feels nothing like your typical commercialized all-inclusive. It’s an upscale, boutique waterfront resort with just 135 rooms, and they’re all standalone private bungalows. Spread across the property’s sprawling but intimate 12 acres, each bungalow has its own front porch, partially hidden by thick clouds of pink bougainvillea.

An outdoor veranda—yes, at every room—sports an oversized soaking tub and garden shower, exposed to the elements but completely hidden from view. The property is located 63 miles south of Miami but feels worlds away, as if you’ve been transported straight to a Caribbean island paradise.

As relaxing as it may be, you’ll probably want to leave your room every now and then, and luckily, Bungalows Key Largo has a lot to offer by way of amenities.

There’s two pools—the more private of the two is flanked by a breezy outdoor gym, perfect for working up a sweat you’ll soon wash off—an immersive bamboo-lined spa, and a pair of Huffy bicycle cruisers at each bungalow for guests to enjoy during their stay. The fitness tiki hut features state-of-the-art workout equipment, including Peloton bikes, daily morning yoga sessions and more. The spa has private treatment cabanas plus a side-by-side, coed tiled eucalyptus steam room and salt therapy treatment room.

The resort also features 1,000 feet of shoreline with a sandy beach and three piers, where boats up to 40 feet can moor to if guests choose to arrive by sea. Whether guests choose to relax by the pool or beach or hop around to explore the rest of Key Largo, they’re sure to enjoy plenty of sunshine and unbeatable views.

The all-inclusive rate grants access not only to resort amenities and accommodations, but also to golf cart pickup and drop-off service, food and premium beverages, water toys, activities like cooking and mixology classes, sunset happy hours, fish fries, pig roasts and more.

In addition to aquatic activities like snorkeling and paddle boarding, Bungalows Key Largo will offer electric Duffy boats, a 38-foot sailing catamaran, and a 40-foot Intrepid powerboat that guests can use for private charters or fishing expeditions. Two floating six-seat tiki boats, aptly named the S.S. Rum Runner and S.S. Margarita, will take guests around for boozy tours of the nearby natural environment and mangroves.

One of the most favored perks of an all-inclusive is that it also means all-you-can-eat. And drink. Fortunately, Bungalows Key Largo offers a variety of delectable options for both, and all offer a direct view of the water hugging the property.

Perched under thatched roofing and with a sweeping view of the water, the elegant Bogie & Bacall’s offers multi-course fine dining and wine pairings, perfect for that elegant night out with a special someone.

For a more casual, let-your-hair-down type of feel, Sea Señor is located directly on the beach, so you can have your toes in the sand as you dine on Mexican fare and fresh margaritas. A forest of coconut trees shades patrons from the sun and breaks up the sea breezes at night, creating the perfect ambiance for a nighttime dining fiesta.

If a resort-casual seafood feast is more up your alley, Fish Tales—inspired by the vibrance of Capri, Italy—is another great option. There’s also the Largo Larry’s food truck for quick beach bites, and the Sunset Tiki Bar, where exotic cocktails are served across African teak.

Arrive via Seaplane

To top the whole thing off, guests of Bungalows Key Largo have the option to arrive via private seaplane from Fort Lauderdale. Staniel Air, based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE), is a private plane charter company—best known for their day trips to the Exumas—that will serve as the resort’s official travel partner and run Bungalow Key Largo’s daily arrivals.

The 35-minute flight not only lets you skip over South Florida’s notoriously miserable traffic, it also gives you a picturesque perspective of the coastal area’s varying shades of blue water, white beaches and bright green foliage.
